Benzine Distributieriem of ketting?

Hallo volvoliefhebbers,

Ik heb een V50 1.8 uit 2004 op het oog.
Nou is mijn vraag,zit daar een riem of ketting op?
De eigenaar weet het niet namelijk.

4 cilinders zijn van Ford. 1.8 is een Duratec, ligt een ketting op.

Double overhead camshafts directly affect the valve stem via the valve lifter.


The camshafts are driven by the crankshaft by a chain that has a fixed guide on the slack side and a hydraulic tensioner on the driven side to maintain valve times and reduce noise. There is also a chain with a spring loaded tensioner that drives the oil pump. The system is maintenance free during the service life of the engine. Both the chain guide and the chain tensioner have plastic inserts on the runners to ensure quiet operation.
